Hot or Not?
What someone (maybe me when I get my MR in...) needs to do is get their hands on some of these bad boys.

Run hrm, double strips of these and you'll probably get a viable foglight replacement. That'd be 12 x 2, 1W Luxeon LEDs. 20 Lumens a pop x 24? 480 Lumens per side. Hrm, maybe not enough light...If only they had 3W or 5W Luxeon LED strips, or K2's in a strip. That'd do it, underdrive the K2's at 100Lumens/piece. A strip of 12 would be 1200 Lumens...definately beginning to be bright enough for fog light replacement.

yea, i swear if someone started making these as kits for our cars (lancers or evos) they could make some big money. I know I would buy a set and looking at how big this thread has got, im sure a ton of others would be seriously interested.
Only problem is...KA-CHING!!!! It wouldn't be cheap. Those Luxeon LEDs do get quite pricey...I'll look into it though. I also gotta find a "good" housing for it. Maybe I'll have to get something molded in plastic...ehhh, let me think about it a bit and well, actually GET my car first. (Oh where are you EVO X!!!)

I have a set of longer ones. This smaller set were destined for interior accent lighting. They were a lot easier to handle for temp placement. Not interested in losing ther fogs. Not until a full assembly is produced that eats up some of that space. LEDs without a clear reflector are not going to be appealing on any vehicle. I may try using ABS and drilling holes out for the LEDs to stick through. This fitment test is for size and position.
Here's the small ones again mounted on a make shift plate to blend a bit better with aesthetics. This is a rough cut to see if its wort the attempt. If I decide to proceed, I will mount a similar plate from the back so there is no evidence of a cutout piece of plastic. This is just to show the LEDs against a backing. May also try chrome trim or mirrored plexi as a reflective background.
