Ben's AMS Sponsored EVO X
NASA TT-A @ Road America
Had a great weekend running with NASA at Road America. The AMS prepared GG Evo X was unreal.
Saturday: On my first session ever running in TT i had to work my way up thru traffic. I was working to get some clean track so i could push the car to get a clean time. After the first three laps i was pushing the car hard, I was on the back of the track and approaching the kink (at road america it is a very fast part of the track where you can make up considerable time) the rub on the kink is that about 10 feet of the track is the wall. I hit the kink without slowing down and blew the corner. I was heading straight for the wall when my Nitto's grabbed enough pavement to straighten me out and i was able to stay parallel with the wall at 110mph. I went thru the grass and made it back onto the track. Needless to say it scared the **** out of me. Going 4 off with NASA, means you forfeit any times you may have had during that session.
I spent the rest of the day getting my confidence back. SUNDAY: The car ran great and during the second session i was feeling very fast. I Ran a 2:32.9 First place in TTA until the final session when the blue z06 snuck in with a 2:31.9 Second place overall for my first time out with NASA TT. I cant say enough about how well this car tracks. The suspension handles unreal (ROBIspec) and the car has so much power (AMS!). Thanks to all for your support. My only issue is with the brakes. I know the boys at AMS are working on it, but we need a brake cooling kit.
BEN - Glad i didn't total my car!

P.S. We are workin on a brake cooling kit for us
I was wondering if the cars without the Aero kit also had the air deflectors for the brakes? I was going to make some 4" flexible ducting to dump air over my calipers but there is already a channel a couple inches deep in the undertray leading to a 3-4" wide air deflector. I may still add in my extra ducting since we all know brakes get crazy hot during when really pushing the car but I haven't seen how a non Aero kit car is setup.

Chris-
They do have small air deflectors that create a bit of air flow but not nearly enough. The real problem is that the cars are just too heavy in their factory configuration with not enough air flow to keep the brakes cool under extreme braking for extending periods of time (greater then 15mintues). I have driven on several tracks with various length straights and have had consistent overheating. i know AMS is working on a brakeduct cooling system, utilizing the fog light holes for those who are real track nuts. Cant wait. Should solve the problem.
For those who want to keep it stock, i recommend getting Motul RBF600 brake fluid and some Raybestos pads until the mass produced after market vented rotars are out.
