I walk up to see the turbo kit, and I notice the coilovers are installed wrong. I go over to the owner to try and tell him I sell these coilovers, and his are installed wrong and just need to be turned. He tells me they are right, and insists upon it. I say, "Well ok then, have a nice day." and leave.

Heres a picture of the car, and how NOT TO install them. I guess he must have been trying to adjust his caster. Anyways, no offense to the owner, your allowed to install them however you like, but this is not how they are supposed to be. The adjustment should move parallel to the strut bar.

I respect the fact that you approached him and tried to help him out for his own sake. These days.. most people just laugh it off, call the owner an ***, and walk on.. lol

I think depending on who makes the coilovers, they can only be adjusted at a certain angle. Here are a few shots from the mirage forum. Same 5g mirage with different brands.

I am using the TAR and it's probably the best purchase I've ever made. Don't be scared to purchase something that costs a little more because there is a reason for the higher price.

JIC make some of the best coilovers in the market and I'm convinced now and will only buy JIC from now on.

I don't want to turn this thread about JIC coilovers so if you have any questions PM me.

I hope everyone realizes that it is possible to want to adjust BOTH camber and caster at the same time. In fact, unless you had a camber plate that could adjust both (see PDE, Noltec, Whiteline, etc) the common practice would be to re-drill and tap the camber plate in order for it to be rotated slightly.

In this specific situation, you are right, the guy probably installed it wrong, because the orientation and mounting points seem to be stock, but the plate has been rotated. His plate's orientation would give way too little camber adjustment and a lot of caster.

This car also seems like a show car, so who cares? He doesn't even need to take advantage of the adjustments, and as someone pointed out earlier, its zeroed.

CN: The slot in the camber plate is not always required to be parallel to the strut bar.

EDIT: How come this is under show and shine but not suspension?
