Shorter Wing on the X

Anyone know of any options to go to a shorter classier lookwith the rear spoiler?? Something that is only 2-4 inches high from the trunk?

Thanks in advance.

the higher oem wing has always been the "classier" wing of the evo.

Classy and Evo don't belong together. It's not something like a BMW.

qft. i'm tired of hearing/reading stuff. go with a lancer gts if you want a little wing. up until now, evo's came stock with a big wing, now it's part of a 'package'

I think I read somewhere in the forums that you'll have some extra holes to cover up if you downgrade to the little wing.

I have the little wing and I kind of like it. On reason I got the base instead of the SSS package is that the car is lighter and I could use the 2K to get the options I wanted (only thing I miss is the HIDs). The smaller wing gets less attention and weighs less. The car I test drove was a SSS package and I was not impressed with the base from the speaker in the back, it took up a bunch of room and also added a good bit of weight. Instead, I replaced the speakers in the doors to better ones and that is that.

At some point I may replace the wing with the bigger one but I am happy with the shorter one right now.

i am using the gts wing. you have two holes on each side to cover up/plug and then you have to drill one hole on each side for the mounting of the gts wing. i found some nice plugs at Advance and then drilled the other two out myself. very easy and it you look at the trunk you can see where along the edge there are places for the two holes you have to drill.

It might weigh less but I doubt it has much downforce so it would be better to just go wingless in that case. imo

The idea is getting the SSS with the base price, which I did.
