I apologize for that. This was just a test fit. The gauge pod was just attached to the pillar WITHOUT 3m tape that gap was from the actual pillar so I didn't put the ACTUAL pillar in all the way which would explain the gap. Sorry about that guys.

Rexpeed Dual A-Pillar Arrived

Well my pillar arrived today and it looks great. It will look better installed with some gauges, but here are some Iphone pics out of the box, and up on the pillar so you can compare the color to the stock pillar. After I get everything installed, I will post more pics. I'm waiting on my other gauge. Btw, if thes pics come out small when I post then I dont' know what I did wrong.

Don't hate on the dashmat.

The color is very, very close to the OEM pillar, with the only difference is that the finish is a bit more reflective / "shiny", but this is not that noticeable. Particularly when you have to look on the other side of the car to compare it.

The ABS is thin as others have noticed, but rigid and I think it will hold nicely upon permanent installation.

The fit does not appear to have any gaps either (the pictures here obviously did not have any adhesive so the gap at the top will go away when it is attached).

I have not seen the AMI customs pillar in person, however it looks like the only difference from checking pictures is that the finish in the AMI pillar looks "drier" or more dusty.

Out of the box...

I wonder why Rexpeed didnt just make a " full replacement". Apparently the oem a-pillar snaps out really easy.

Sorry
You can probably get them at a lot of places, but I've got this and previous dashmats from the same place for the last couple of years. It is now called "Blondie's Pit Stop" out of Colorado. You can google it, the website sucks, but call or email and they'll take care of you.

Im pretty happy with the fit and finish of your current pod (sitting on my desk as I type this). But I would have definitely paid $140 shipped for a full replacement.

Can someone post a "How To" install this pillar pod? Apparently its a little more involved than just snapping the oem a-pillar off. There is something preventing the oem pillar from being removed. Also routing of the gauge wires under the dash would be nice to include..

i dont know what you would call it but there is something on the top of the a-pillar attached that hangs off and you need to play around with it to take it off. if thats not the problem try squeezing the part where it meets the weatherstrip. i had trouble taking mine off as well.

I want to take it off carefully. That plastic hanger behind the top of the a-pillar keeps it from flying at your face, if ever the airbags deploy. That plastic hanger has fragile tabs securing it from behind. Once those snap, its a rap..

Can you post pics of the fitment without the dash cover? Its blocking any potential gaps or fitment issues.
