[QUOTE=raytrix;6886265]Seriously it was a ***** to install the hood scoop because of that plastic tab. Good luck to those that do not have prying skills. Here is a before and after shot.QUOTE]

Looking Good!! You should have PM'd me about the tabs though. They are actually really easy to pop off. You just take a small socket and push on the tabs on the engine side of the hood and they pop right off. Service manual definitely helped me out on that one.

Parts look nice, but how will they do with the sun overtime?

Sucks that Rexpeed didn't supply me with bolts to install the new hood scoop onto the hood. I had to go to Ace Hardware and get 6 - 10mm bolts, lock washer, and flat washer just to install the hood scoop.

I got to agree with you there. I sent this info to Derek when I installed mine and hopefully Rexpeed will correct this for anyone else who gets one. I got lucky and had some screws laying around the garage that worked. I would never have guessed that the OEM bolts were shaped like they are. The OEM bolts have to be hand tightened as there is not a normal head on the screw. Plus the OEM bolts are too long and would damage the scoop if you use them.

Do you know the threading on these bolts? I just got the rexpeed scoop and it didn't have bolts....i wish i saw this thread before I took my stock one off!!

FAIL on rexpeed for not providing 6 bolts!

on the plus side, it's a quality piece.

Sorry, I am not sure about the thread pitch on the bolts. I just used some bolts that came out of other things that I took off the car previously, I guess I got lucky. The peice definitely does look nice though! I like how the opening looks much bigger than it really is.
