20mm is around 3/4in. I'd rather have a wheel that is 1in wider than have my wheels stick out 1in further. I looks good, but you can't really tell a difference of 3/4in on a pic.

would something like this make rocks fling up and hit the car in other places? my paint already looks sand blasted in the front f the rears, i can deal with that, just dont wanna make it worse!
The more flush the wheels are to the fender, the more rock chips you'll get. Sorry to break it to you.

My aggressive wheels have created all new chips and scratches on my paint

I like it....I am not one for the over agressive fitment. I just want to go for the BMW look ...less gap but the wheels slightly tucked in at the top ( the natural contour of the sides will allow the bottom of the wheel to stick out a little).

I think if you compare his pict with a stock one, you can easily see the difference.

I think if you get the rex speed CF sides, you might slow down or eliminate the chips. I have the aero kit and have no issues on the sides.

Looks much better than stock. I always see Xs and even with larger diameter rims, they look like they have a big ugly body kit on because the rims are sunken. This looks much better, nice

Rock chips happen. I don't really care about chips or dings, because there is nothing you can do to really avoid them if you drive your car daily. It'll never be a show car and i'm not going to try and keep it pristine because it's a battle that is not worth the effort. I have many more important things to focus on in life other than chips in my cars paint. It gets me from place to place and is a blast to drive. And as for having wheels that are 1 inch wider, i might pick up another set of wheels in the future.

rock chips happen and i can live with them, but for those that cannot stand any imperfection on their cars, this may not be the right ticket.

thanks for all the comments. The reason I made this post in the first place was just to get some community discussion going on. We need to liven up the evo X community

like i said, i can deal with some of the rock chips. how bad can this be? is the whole side of the car going to look sandblasted?

x2

I've said it before elsewhere, but it seems like Mitsubishi is in bed with lowering spring and wheel companies for sure... Look at the wheel gap and wheel configurations stock.

Do they own Tein and Rays Engineering by chance? LOL
