DRIVELINEmotoring EXPLAINS - DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FAKE AND REAL BRIDE SEATS
I trust them. More people run fake seats then we like to admit. I've never seen any seat just crumble and snap other than those $100 wannabe Recaro's on ebay they are like cardboard. The weight of my one "Vios III Low Max full fiberglass bucket seat" is 10lbs. You can't complain about that.
LOL your from New York what do you know.
LOL your from New York what do you know.
i dont know, i'm confused. The real good racing seat are between 13-22 lb. Which are FIA approved and they cost more then a grand each or a lot more. 10 lb crash approved seats are more then 2 grand each, as i know.
So if you have a 10 lb not crash approved seat... I would be worry.
But, it is your choice for sure. The problem with this idea is this.
When you finally realize it why i'm worried that, usually too late...
See nothing is wrong or bad until they get tested.
Just like the Chinese cars . they are take you to A-to B. so what do you know?
They are "perfect" and why spend on the US or EU or even a JDM cars for extra money?
So you are just wasting your money? The reality is , really you are wasting a money????
example:

in the car world this is a rule of thumb and for a good and proved reason:
you can change the fast to a safe one
if you want it.

For those of you not worried about any safety aspect (which I would hope you are), you'll notice the amount of use between the copies and the originals is far different between eachother.
From what I have PERSONALLY seen, the fake Bride's will give you about 6 months of use before the seems start to split, the fabric slowly tears, the colors fade from sunlight, the recline-hinge wobbles, the seats creaks excessively, the hinges become loose, etc etc. You really do pay for what you get with Bride.
Last year alone I sold a pair of my hand-me-down Brix II's to a close friend (which were about 2 years old at the time) and the seats are still in brand-new shape. This is with 60,000 miles of use and there are still no tears, no loose threads, no wobbles, etc.

I highly doubt the exploding chair news is real. That would have been a really embarrassing way to die.
Back to topic. Thanks for the OP for the post. While I am not a big fan of "handbag style" repeated logos at the seat center, its good to know how to identify knock off.
Having said it, I wonder if someone have the means to make near identical bride seat, why won't they just have their own lines of seats & sell as their own brand.
