lowering springs VS coil overs

What is everyone's opinion on this?

Do you think lowering springs are only good for temporary use until they can be replaced by coilovers? Or do you think the Evo's current shocks and struts will tolerate lowering springs well over time?

Do you think lowering springs will affect the suspension geometry too much? And should just go straight to a tuned coilover setup?

I'm planning to lower the vehicle but have been getting many mixed responses in regards to springs vs coilovers. Has anyone had both springs and then switched to coilovers? Which do you prefer?

I'm not planning to SLAM the car if i was using coilovers, however i find that the lowered height of the Eibach Pro Kit suits my targeted stance.

Depends on our purpose? Street or track. Lowering springs are good for street. Coilovers for track, unless you want a bumpy ride...

I will probably go for the eibach springs myself when I can afford to..

Lowering Springs are a cheap alternative, although i would not recommend running them for lengthy periods of time, they have a tendency to blow shocks out extremely quickly. I would save for coil's, maybe get springs first, and then start saving for coils, but the springs will probably cause the stock shocks to blow within 10-20,000 miles, if not sooner.
