How are you planning on removing the pink in the cover?

Did you have to dremel the light open?

Throwing them in the oven for a few minutes to loosen the adhesive, and pry them apart was how the VII-IX's were done. Was that not an option for X lights?

no its an actual bond agent that is called plastic weld. it works very well.

thanks for all the responses... i've been slacking with this a little. didnt get much more done today. Tried using paint thinner on a small part of the cover but it didnt work. seems that there is a red hue mixed in the plastic itself-which will be impossible to get rid of.

So im trying to figure out what to do...

oh man the suspense. cant wait. ive gone to a couple of junkyard looking for lancer tails just to do this as well. looks like you beat me to it. i hope that the thinner works though considering that color is impregnated into that plastic. cant wait to see your finished product though. good luck

it is certainly an option for headlights.... which i will attempt next btw lol but the tail lights cannot be done the same way because they are bonded differently. its plastic bond that will start melting with the rest of plastic if you try throwing it in the oven
