Way to go with the insults though, that was really called for.
I honestly do not know who you are and I have no idea why you are even going to this length to slander Rota Wheels (let alone in the show & shine and someone's thread).

Not suited for track use? That's a new one to me, that's a new one to GST Motorsports (Unlimited class with tons of 1st place finishes, Modified Mag Tuner Shootout winner 2 years in a row, etc.. on Rota's), that's a new one to Turn in Concepts (won first place at every RedLine Time Attack Street Class event on the east coast), and the countless other users running Rota Wheels on the track. Also, while we are on the topic of track use, what makes a wheel "suitable" for track use? The Rota DPT's on TiC's car are wide, made in proper offsets for the car, are only 18 lbs, and they exceed JWL/VIA test standards. Seems like an awesome track setup to me (especially considering the price and availability of this wheel) and I guess that's why they are so popular

Apparently you have a soft spot as you are taking this wayyyy too serious. I guess I would be upset if a car in Street Class running "inferior boat anchors" posted a better lap time than your Voltex/JRZ/Volk car which is in Modified Class (That was meant as a joke )

Explain to me the countless Rota's that have shattered or bent from track use. Sure you can run fast lap times and be fine on Rotas. However from the countless occurances I have seen firsthand from Rotas not holding up to the stress of tracking on them I would not leave it to chance. I was not going to any lengths to "slander" Rota, and it seems you are making this a bigger deal than it is and throwing this thread further off topic.

I do not have a soft spot on this, I was merely defending myself from being insulted. However I am having to defend myself yet again, this time from a Vendor who doesn't have any of the details of my car or track performance. As a vendor you should conduct yourself in a more professional manner . Real funny joke It shows your knowledge of what happened at the track.

I'm sorry but I don't recall the countless Rota's that have shattered or bent from track use. Can you please share these first hand incidents with me and also tell me the exact wheel model/cars that they were on? The only Rota Wheel to ever have an issue was the Rota Attack (mind you this was exactly 6 years ago) and this was due to the wheels only being tested to 5x100 load ratings when the car in questions required higher load ratings (WRX). All wheels in question were recalled under manufacture warranty and replaced (even shipping charges were covered by Rota). Within the past 6 years all models for this application are now tested to higher load ratings and as I mentioned, far exceed JWL/VIA test standards. Rota is by far the most commonly used aftermarket wheel on Subaru's, this isn't a coincidence, this is because they have proven to make quality wheels that do hold up to abuse.

We ship so many wheels out a day and yet in the past 6 years I've never had someone email, call, or post about their broken wheel from track use (unless of course they slammed in to a wall, in which case any wheel would bend/shatter). It simply hasn't happened as these wheels are very durable and hold up to a ton of abuse.

I know exactly what happened at your event (I do read the forums you know.. I also work & I am friends with other teams competing at the event) and that is why I couldn't have been more clear in saying that it was a JOKE

I said before that I did not want to beat a dead horse with this discussion. I have my firsthand experience along with all the facts that I do not need to disclose in this thread.

I want to apologize to the OP for how far off topic this thread has gone. Hopefully a mod will clean it up. Congrats again on your 1st place win in stock class. I hope to see you doing well in future events

As for your "joke", it was not funny and was clearly intended to be a cheap shot towards me. Just because you say "this is a joke" doesnt mean it is. This is just another occurance of your lack of professionalism that you show on these boards. Call it what you want, but it was a jab towards me and you and I both know it. If you want to discuss this further PM me as I would like to keep it out of the OPs thread from here on out.

Congrats to the OP, great accomplishment.

In all honesty though, the thread became even more interesting when the Rota arguments started...LOL

I enjoyed the part in the video where you went flying by all those guys on the stretch. I enjoy doing that... on the highway.

I'll say it again, you are an idiot. I don't even have rota wheels, don't intend to use them nor do I support or am I affiliated with WheelDude or GST or anyone who supports the wheels. Hell I have had gone through a couple sets of Volks myself the most recent being Ce28's on my old 2001 Mr2, do i get butthurt hear about people running rotas? nope.

What I do support are people making their own wheel choices. What i don't support are idiots like you who everytime someone posts about Rotas comes into the thread and makes a deal about how they are completely inferior... these inferior claims based off a couple batches of wheels made years ago.... Either you start this crap because you have the "real" JDM wheels and are sick of people buying wheels that look similar, or someone threw a rota wheel at your mother and you still haven't found the *******

With that said do you have any idea how many people track rota wheels? I know suby owners use them like crazy, lotus elise owners go nuts with them, they are becoming super popular here with Evo's....Becoming really popular with the 350/70 crowd.

In the end it is a wheel, tested to the same standards as OEM wheels.... are they forged? nope. do they claim to be the best most awesome track wheel? nope. Do they get the job done for people who want a cheap track wheel? yup.

If the wheels sucked so much we would see more posts about them sucking...why? because 1000's of people daily drive these wheels, and the street is a much more brutal environment than the race track.

To the OP...I'm glad your Rota wheels carried you to victory, rumor has it they are the only reason you won!!!

goodnight

The OP has AME wheels. One wheel costs as much as 3 Rotas. Where the hell are the mods to clean this **** up?

The car will be at Ascutney Hillclimb and NHMS next week for a time trial. Probably still dirty.
