You a student here in Philly then? Said you have a project going on, assuming its for class. Yet to see your car around the city.
Nice work on the photos and car looks real good.

I go to school in Jersey. I've only taken my car into the city once. I hate parking it in the city. Philly drivers feel for the bumper. I take PATCO if I want to go to Philly.

it is canon, the 1.8 50mm is one of the cheapest but most beloved lenses out there. The 70-200 2.8 IS is a sick lense though. great zoom for low light situations. The 85 1.2 is just overkill, unless you are doing ultra low light or super high speed. Either way i think you said you had a 50D which has a crop sensor so the zoom is even greater for those lenses (the range is based off a 35mm full frame sensor).

I guess they changed pricing with vII but still sub $100:

If you are losing sunlight....what does raising the ISO do? Just curious...i took some pics this weekend at sunset...and the car came out too dark....will raising the ISO help?

Raising the iso I believe allows the lense to take in more light but more iso= grainyness

correct, sorta. Think of ISO as film speed. The larger the ISO the faster the shutter can open and close to capture the picture. This allows the sensor to absorb more light at the cost of clarity. The higher the ISO the more prone to noise your images become. The more expensive the camera (and thus the sensor) the higher ISO you can shoot in without noise. Honestly during sunset and sunrise you get absolutley stunning images around 800 ISO with a good camera due to this reason. Unfortunatly you need something in the range of a $800 body (not the full kit price but just the body) camera to shoot 800+ ISO and get no noise.

The camera the poster shot with can definitly handle it and has produced some fantasitic shots. The other part of the equation is the glass used to shoot with (lenses). While ISO can allow you to shoot in lower light, the speed of the lense matters even more. I have a much cheaper camera (Canon XTi) but with my 50mm f 1.8 lense i can shoot at sunset around 400 ISO and get good images with no flash, reason being is the f value of a lense tells you how much light it lets in (the lower the value the faster, more light the lense is).

Sorry for the ramblings, kinda a shutter bug Cheers.
