Evo X Mirror Modification PART 3 !!
Evo X Mirror Modification PART 3 !!
My mirror obsession continues
Thought i would give some little carbon jobs a go.
Craft square are like rocking horse s hit to get hold of in the UK, so when these came up for sale , new , but supplied with bases originally designed to go on a skyline,
and in silver carbon, i thought , not really what i want , but they can be made to fit
Got the silver carbon tinted with black tinted laquer, then had some bases made, using the original dimensions for the mirror "plug in" area copied.
Then it was just a case of making them fit my bases and getting looking presentable.
Not 100% sure i actually like them
but the view from in the car is superb, just not sure on the proportional difference in relation to the size of the car versus the tiny mirrors.......
Will see how i get on with them, there may be a Part 4
Oh, and i whipped the front bumper off and painted the annoying silver power steering pipe black as well, cleans up the front no end, also lowered her a little as well.
Craft Square mirrors in original Silver carbon:

Now tinted dark:

Bases cut off:

New mounts made from /Nylon solid bar:
Attached to bases and filler drying :

Primed , then painted:

Fitted to the car

Visibility from in the car is great....
Tinted my rear light clusters also, as the pinky factory finish is garbage, wanted a dark but translucent result as i dont like solid looking "painted " tints, all the detail inside the clusters is still visible which is great, and the darkness varies with the quality of light outside.
Ralliart units would be nice but i aint paying £580 for them........ yet
(and yes i forgot the reflectors in the lower part of the bumper, next job on the list
)

A few more pics, yes i actually drove it somewhere :-)

I guess everything is for sale at the right price, though by the time the $ gets converted to £ and shipping , you probably wouldnt want them
Cheers.
