ROTA GRIDS Black Chromed....Sorta...PermaStar...

So I called Dan up at Wheeldude.com and couldn't decide between Yamaha Black and Hyper Black. I was partial to Hyper since I thought Matte and Gloss black seemed played out (no offense I still love the Yamaha Black). He did'nt have any Hyper and there was a short wait, so I bought some Royal Steel Gray's and decided to try out this new process called PermaStar by Goodrich Technology:

This stuff is awesome! Vacuum processed powdercoat, with the look and sheen of chrome, less the weight. The workmanship is backed by a warranty (I believe 5-7 years), and they do wheel repair also (bent & curb rash wheels)

BEFORE:

AFTER (stuffed with 275/35/18 Falken 452's, Rr fenders rolled, Front fender liners heated/pushed for clearance):

Just added a pic of the front view

Thanks guys. I was skeptical of the chrome-look. I DO NOT like chrome at all, the *BLING* factor and especially the extra weight (especially on a car like this). But Always loved Black chrome, and with no additional weight (it may even be lighter than regular powder coat because of less material due to the vacuum process), this was a bonus for me.

Next is doing the chrome on the window/door areas. I have a Chargespeed Carbon Fibre grill frame (nose piece) to replace that chrome piece also (I'll do at the same time I do the Oil & Tranny fan-cooler mod.

It accents the chrome trimming on your MR. Looks great IMO. Not sure it would look right on a GSR though..
