Tinting Taillights and Headlights

To all those that have tinted/blacked out your taillights and headlights. What are you using so it doesnt fade?

VHT Nightshades.

Has anyone tried or used this? I remember when i used to ride sportbikes alot of the guys on the forum were using it for their rear taillight and had good success

Nightshades + Clear on the tails.

Don't tint headlights. If you have the HID housings, black them out.

blacking the housing on them out looks cheap and odd,

window tint is not permanent

factory HID headlights are not cheap to replace, and monkeying with them is not good

I'm at Garage Works getting it done. They use a tinted rock gard not window tint. I went with the darker one. They also have clear, yellow, red and others.

Blacking the housing looks cheap and odd? I understand that you're entitled to your own opinion, but that seems to go against the grain.

Of course the headlights are expensive, and you don't want to ruin anything, but done properly... I don't think that "cheap" and odd really fit...

We are talking about the same thing right?

The "free" mod (well, cost of spraypaint) that you throw your lights in the oven, separate the lens from the housing, black out the chrome pieces, reassemble.

I had black paint, so it actually cost nothing.

Regardless, the OP can't do it anyway because of the reflector housings. It doesn't matter if it looks good if your lights don't work as lights anymore
