Are splitters like this still in style?

I kind of like it out of all the lips I have seen.

Many road course cars have splitters on them. I'm sure many people would consider it 'rice' on the street. If you have a thick skin then feel free...I have one waiting to go on.

I read on here somewhere that you have to modify that splitter to get to the oil filter and other areas under there, whereas on the stock guard, it has the various removable pieces. Does look good with the aero kit lip though.

It comes as a solid piece...you have to drill your own holes and I'm assuming I'll need to notch out a spot for the oil filter, as you mentioned. I haven't had a chance to test fit it yet since my car is being a garage queen.

love splitters! got one on my evo ix and did not have to modify for oil filter but as for the Evo X I'm not sure..

I have one on my car. Yes, you have to cut a notch out of it to access the oil filter panel.
