I'm looking into getting some hood dampers/struts (to hold the hood up instead of the lift up bar), but wondered which ones EvoM members have purchased and if you were satisfied.

I've seen the TEIN and Coltspeed ones which are rather pricey ($200 plus), so an Ebay search netted about four results of varying price (Nextek, Bochi, Kenshin Auto, etc) around $40 to $100. Gas or oil filled?

Just throwing it out there to whoever may have already bought and installed some. Any recommendations? Thanks!

 

I had the Mynes hood dampers for my evo 8, they were awesome and only $60 shipped I think. That would be great if they made them for the X!

 

I just ordered a set of Mynes hood dampers for my X yesterday

I had NRG on my S2k and Mynes on my IX and I preferred the Mynes ones because they weren't so stiff.

I have the set from Rexpeed, They use very powerful shocks so be careful when handling

 

i run the rexspeed one too and they are powerful.

although the set i got felt rather cheap. the damper does not give a smooth action when opening and closing and makes noises. feels like it would die if i used it to much.

 

Rexpeed on mine, no problems with the at all.

 

The Mynes dampers on my IX have been installed for over 2 years and working just as well now as ever.

I have the Gruppe-S dampers.

 

I wish NRG made them for the X...

 

I've got the same ones on my X. They work great and are easy to install. GL on your decesion.
