I have looked through 150 pages between here and evox forums, and not one painted shroud.

lots of carbon fiber ones though.

was wanting to paint mine but want to see how it looks first.

anyone got a photo?

 

It would probably look like **** and the paint would chip off.

 

i am pretty good at painting. get good paint and good clear coat and it would never come off or chip.

anyways, yeah i am thinking that it may be a little to...."ricey" to paint it. that is why i was looking for a pic.

That engine bay can hijack any thread...I threw up in my mouth and darted when I seem that mess.

 

Well i guess thread over, captain **** shot down the idea....

But yeah that photo made me realize that

1. That is the ugliest engine bay, probably ever

2. Not sure any color on that big of an area would be a good idea. There is that body kit that is color matched, and that doesn't even look to great imo

Don't worry quang i will just go buy a carbon fiber shroud so that i can be like everyone else with money...

 

You've painted a lot of your engine bay, if I recall, and it mostly looks riced out. Sure, color-matching, if done tastefully, can be good, but over-do it and you've got rice. Doing the radiator shroud would look awful because you need contrast. You need colors like black and/or carbon, or in small cases, polished aluminum/titanium to offset the main color.

The money comment is kind of interesting. If you want to make your bay look better, but want to do it cheaply your options are limited. Save up your money and do it right the first time. Also, don't take offense when somebody voices their opinion, no matter how bluntly or harshly they do it. It's going to happen when you post up stuff like this.
