Just FYI, I used black plasti-dip to do my stencil. That stuff holds up against Canadian winter road salt. I've even cleaned my intercooler with caustic aluminum cleaner and the stencil held up. Another advantage of it is that if you get a rock chip in it, you can do minor touchups with a q-tip of small paintbrush without needing to re-spray the whole stencil. It works nicely to coat the mesh grille as well.

Because its a rubber coating, I'm sure it would mess with the cooling. I only did the stencil so most of the surface area remains... but I wouldn't coat the whole intercooler with it.
