I have a stock evo x se, wingless...thinking about adding a wing to it. Do you guys think a CF wing like seibon is my best bet? What are your recommendations?

Find somebody with a WW SSS that wants to trade, shouldn't be hard to do, a LOT of people want to go wingless and a lot of people happen to have WW.

 

This. If you want a wing just swap with a WW SSS car.

 

Trying buying a whole deck lid with wing. That's what I'm going to do for my SE. I don't have the heart to drill into a special edition trunk. I'll just store it in the garage incase I ever sell/trade the car and they want it original.

 

I've got an SE as well Imo keep the deck lid spoiler looks so much better man

 

I have thought about getting a SSS carbon wing and painting the outsides and top, and leaving the insides and bottom carbon. Kinda like how the 8 and 9's spoilers were. It looks REALLY good. Someone already did it on Evom.

 

I think it looks better with the wing, but really its a personally preference. Just do what you think looks better. Looking to buy one off of someone is definitely a good idea.

 

yea i dont think i would drill into the trunk trade someone or buy one from someone.

In my opinion a wingless X looks like a mazda6, but get what you think looks best.

 

I'm still undecided on the wingless look.
Looking my my GSR and SE side by side the SE just looks like it's missing something.

From the side it kind of just looks like a regular Lancer.
From the back, the wingless is sexy!!

I think once I lower the SE it will look sexy no matter what angle your looking at it being wingless, but with it's monster truck stance on stock springs it just looks awkward. I think they have to be slammed to bring the look together.

But I think in the end my wife really wants a wing on it, so I'll start looking for a deck lid with the SSS wing later this year. There is always someone going to a carbon trunk, and everyone has WW.

 

+1 vote for adding a wing. Personally I just find the car doesn't look as aggressive without a wing. Plus all the EVO's had massive wings... so personally I associate the wing with the whole EVO image. If you don't want a gigantic wing... you could get the original EVO X GSR wing which is basically half the height of the MR wing.

If I went wingless, I'd look at the Do-Luck trunk.

I like the wingless look from some angles, but the wifey wants her wing and I don't blame her. I also associate Evo's with wings. Plus it would make the Evo match my GT-R a bit more since it looks too tame without a wing.
