Voltex Randomness: Testing Fender Flares on an Evo 10
The way this flare is designed - im not sure it will help wider wheels at all. Yea they'll fit and be more flush but unless the body metal is pulled out as well to join w/ the extruded edge - rubbing will be the same.
I'm sure they will look fine in production form, but I don't really see the point...
I mean really...how wide do you need to go on a X? 18x10.5 +15 on 275/35/ NT01's is way more than enough to keep my car under control. I suppose you could get crazy with offsets but still.

Hopefully we get to see some new aero from Voltex I've been waiting forever!

So there are countless amounts of us that have had to roll and sometimes pull fenders. How will this let us run wider or more negative offset since the design doesn't appear to help.
Unless the final product will sit higher up on the fenders..... and slope downward on the outter portion, allowing us to trim the factory fenders?

I hope there is more to this than meets the eye, maybe incorporating this into a new bumper/fender set or something... Otherwise it'd be better to invest this time into a rear diffuser or some simple side skirts.
Voltex is worthless to us anymore. They play around with a front lip, a million wings, and some other crap, but don't try anything new. Where's the widebody? The canards? The crazy-*** diffusers?
Fender flares? Seriously, Voltex?

Agreed, I was fully expecting IX-like aero for the X. I'd buy that in a heartbeat, but they don't make sense with their releases anymore. Clearly not focused on making a Cyber-like X car.
well maybe this is just a proof of concept idea. see if they can stuff a 18x11 or whatever, see how far the flares go, then make their wide fender from the measurements they gather..
like.. what is that huge double yellow triangle on the 2nd picture? the measure the distance out from the flare to the ground, then they could use that measurement to design how wide the front and rear fenders will be ??
wishful thinking.. but that's what i would do..
