New pickup: Okada Plasma Lift

This unit is designed to increases spark voltage, upon installation I immediately noticed improved throttle response and smoother revs. There are 11 settings for this unit: 1 to 4 is for street use, 5 to 7 is for racing only, 7 to 11 is occasional high rpm track use only. From butt dyno it does feel like it picked up a few ponies.

Placebo. I've yet to see PROOF that this concept works.

It intercepts between the power cable for the ignition.

My feedback is proof, you can tell the difference in throttle response just by tweaking different settings on the unit.

It's NOT proof, it's OPINION. Butt dyno is entirely subjective. Remove it, throw it on the dyno, install it, dyno again. THAT'S proof (for example).

I don't know why you would discount someone's feedback just because he didn't dyno it. You can feel increased hp when you get an exhaust without having to dyno the car. It's called an observation.

i do believe you actually can't feel 4-10 hp difference, another thing of course; you think you feel it.
Its like suspension , just because it is stiffer is not 100% sure its faster also...
Louder exhaust also makes you think you going faster , and that can be also not true.

the gain you can get from this, there is no way you can feel it, you just want to feel it. Two different thing.

Why don`t you start doing back to back dyno test for every part once you start modding the car? Sorry but I cannot afford to do such experiment just to keep you happy.

I can`t say for sure how many hp there is, but the improvement in throttle response is unmistakable. There is difference in the throttle response just by playing around with different settings on the unit.

wat?

An increased throttle response, if observed, is a matter of fact, not opinion. That's like telling a doctor that his measurement of your deep tendon reflex (little mallet to the knee) being quicker are "just his opinion". It is not.

Also, the dyno would graph power through a "test window." Dyno's don't have sensors that measure throttle response. They just measure power to the wheels through a test window.

A EvoScan log of driving and throttle blips would clearly demonstrate whether there is an increase in transient response or not. The problem is gathering a log with the exact same driving behavior (i.e. throttle input) in the exact same climate through the exact same route, then repeating with the modification installed.

Sheesh, guys arguing with him about his observations, that's really lame.

LVS, does this work best with the Okada plasma coils?

I would think its designed to work best with the Okada coils, but Im sure it will fire up with stock coils
