Quad Projector Retrofit

I just finished my quad projector retrofit from a non-SSS headlight. The high beam was alot more difficult than the low beam, as there was very little room for error.

To stay legal, I needed DRLs. So, it was either angels or LEDs. The LEDs I found looked cheap, so I opted for the angels. (and yeah, I know.. angels are for BMWs... no point of beating that dead horse.)

Looks like Matt @ TRS hooked you up well with parts

Thanks for posting this... Have always been intrigued by what the internals of non-SSS look like... Ppl always ask me to mod them but I always knock them back....

just a few qns:
* Wondering why you didnt go with a BiXenon Projector for Low & High beam
*I see you went with Lexus RX projectors in the low beam housing but what projector did you retrofit in the high beam housing??
* What adhesive did you use to stick the shrouds to the housing?

Cheers,
Stevo

The low beam was okay.. it was the high beam where I almost lost it!

Yup.. Matt at TRS.. great to deal with.

When I started to the project, I had no intent on doing the high beams. So I went with the RX projectors (TSX lens), with 55W ballasts.

It wasn't till after I finished the low beams, I decided to the high beams... main reason for that, is I wanted to black them out, which wouldn't work with the high beam reflector. I went with the Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini H7 for them (smallest available), and they were REAL tight for fitment. I also needed to make a custom cap for the back of it. Impossible to keep the OEM screw cap on there.

I used a silicone/expoxy mix for the mounting the shrouds. It finishes nicely, and is extremely strong... that shroud is not moving!

I'm gonna do another set this fall, with just the low beam, and keep it chrome. It should be easy after this one.

They look great. If you happen to sell a set, I'd be interested.
