I was under the impression that anything other than stock is rice (bling without any additional zing) unless you're running a LOT of boost. Am I wrong?

I was being ironic ..... and yes I do have an aftermarket ECU. Not that you need one to run a VTA setup.

For what it is worth, if you don't think that an aftermarket ECU like a HKS F-Con and HKS Valcon add value to a car that is setup to run in Time Attack events then your value to these sort of discussions is limited. In my opinion.

The stock BoV is very good, you are right about that.

So just to recap, you believe that VTA has any practical use, AND you support the stock recirc. valve which, beyond stock application, is pretty unsatisfying...

The stock BoV in the X is a good bit of kit, yes.

There is no technical reason why you cannot run a VTA on a stock or aftermarket ECU, and have a car that runs well.

Also, the car in the video sounds pretty cool..... if you like that kind of thing.

Since we agree there is no Technical reason then I should be okay with the VTA, because, practically speaking, the weight saving from not having to install the recirculation pipe is significant!

Anyway, this is all irrelevant. I think the car in the video with the turbo spool and the VTA noise sounds cool. So I was just sharing that with my fellow ricers!!!

You shouldn't be bothered what I think, I've spent over $50k on all that junk in my signature, put a RICE aerokit on my car, and spent over $7000 on street tires/tyres from Turkey!

I'm clearly mental!

quit being a sarcastic ****. it does nothing for yourself. we get the point you have a serious evo x. not many people mod there x's to the extent that you have. which is why a bov isn't the best option for them. fantastic that you love it. i'm so indescribably happy for you.

The stock one is loud enough for me when used with a open element filter.

Probably because with SS brake lines, proper fluid, and a nice set of race pads, our stock braking system is very good. Ask Ryan Gates or the guys at SSP the next time you see their cars why they're running the same brakes and doing fine.
