got me 50% ceramic tint on WW gsr
Hey guys,
I couldn't find any evos with this shade of tint so I decided to give it a shot.
I'm in so cal and didn't want to have the cops hassle me but i wanted some heat rejection especially for my boys in back.
i decided on 50% and it looks great. i'm not into the dark rear and lighter front combo so i went even all around. windshield is untouched. it seems even stock window pics here because of the white paint and black interior gave an illusion some tint.
it's super sunny out today and these camera phone pics were taken about 1pm.

haha. i shrunk them down a bunch now.
it's 50% tint so it's more subtle. i didn't want to be a cop magnet.
nobody else on any evo forum has this light of a tint so i wanted to post for people who were curious. the ceramic tint blocks the infrared waves very well so it's more comfortable than darker tint.

I like the 50%, I was thinking about doing the same thing as I don't want the attention from law enforcement and I don't like the super dark look either.
Question though, what is ceramic tint?

It's even lighter in person even at night. i really like it.
ceramic tint is the actual materials impregnated into the film to help reduce all the heat especially infrared. All tint block UV but not the heat. it's literally night and day compared to the normal tint.
i went with some off brand tint but with a lifetime warranty. the most popular and most expensive tint is called Huper Optik. The euro car guys use that material. not too many dealers for that brand.

Looks great, I was thinking of doing a 70%....What brand did you use because if thats an off brand/in-expensive the quality looks legit. Where did you get it done @? Im in socal too..

I got it done at Just Audio in Santa Ana off Harbor. I went there only because I had a dealer credit for tint so I upgraded to ceramic since I wanted the light shade.
i think the brand is Excel or something. It's like a private label made by a bigger manufacturer.
70% will look totally stock so you definitely need to get ceramic for heat resistance. i yelped another shop in Santa Ana that does Huper Optik which people say it's the best. Stuff is made in Germany. You should look into that brand of film.

I got my tint done just like that a week after i got it back in '08. Believe it or not a cop actually told me it was too dark once when i got pulled over. I was dumbfounded. It all depends on the cop.
