I've been wanting to do something similar and
was told to get in touch with Jotech. I called them
and they said they don't take apart HL's. They may
paint them, but I was told they will not open HL's.
And you have to do that to paint/blackout the inside
of the light housing. I want to do a lens swap.

So if anyone knows I am interested too!

For me, baking them is kinda scary...

But also trying to pull them apart, and making sure that the quality of the paint looks good/even, and then I worry that the seal might not be good when I put them together.

I was worried about the baking part myself too! But it is very easy. Just have to strip down, from bulbs to harness and ballasts if hid.

The only thing that seems to be tricky is the seal, but if you use some 3M window weld it works well.

This was on VIII.

He did mine not to long ago. Most of the time he just does the total black out, but he can do made to order things such as upgraded projectors, halos, red shutters, led strip, and the works! He da' Man!

Hey guys. I'm on the Evo X forum dot com (lol) and I am a vendor over there. I do this exact work and have a great core exchange program. JUST sayin'.

There's NO mini-vendorship here yet so I can't openly advertise, but y'all should know where to find me.

How does that Red lens work? Do the headlights still function normally?

Yep you got it. Its just a color piece behind the projector that gives it
whatever color you want.... but it will funtion normal.

I kinda like that Red Projector. Good job!

Too bad no one in the DFW area does this. Could bring in some easy $$$
I'm sure someone does but they aren't on this forum.

He actually just painted the shutter on mine. It only really shows up at certain angles or any time you take pictures with flash.

Yeah, I'm still perfecting the painted shield look. I might try some thin aluminum I can just stamp out for stock and EvoX-R projectors, with slight mods required for the FX-Rs. This mod is getting more popular when people send their lights to me.
