I haven't seen it before. What does the top look like? People do a lot of creative paint jobs with the do-lucks.

I left the top alone, only the bottom half is painted and all of it with clear coat.

That looks pretty good! We are planning on getting this trunk on our X and we were only going leave the lip part carbon and the rest color matched. This is definitely another positive approach.

I've seen the tip of the bill left unpainted for the CF strip. Looks clean.

But I prefer the full CF or full color matched.

That is how I did mine! I didn't paint like the vertical part, but I did leave part of it carbon fiber on top.

I saw a while back someone had theirs done like dopdop1 but it was faded from white to CF about a third down the trunk instead of just at the lip...it looked sick
