Such a hard decision :( Raijins vs. PF01

EDIT: Bought Weds Sport SA-55M in Matte Grey instead 18x9+20 for a great price! $1150 shipped

After much research and looking at what seemed like hundreds of rims at this price range, I have settled on two choices:

Enkei Raijin 18 x 8.5 +35
Enkei PF01 18 x 9.5 +35

Both will be in Silver.

Before anyone says go for +15, I really hate the wheels to poke out of the fender, and I don't plan on lowering my car ever (therefore +15 with 9.5 rim will look like 4x4 )

Gah I can't decide! I will be ordering a set in January and using them as my summer tires.

If anyone knows this, please chime in, on the PF01, will a 255 tire fit without rubbing issues @ stock height?

Help me choose! Each day I like one more, then I flip flop. PF01's more flush look, vs Raijins looks? My car is Wicked White for reference.

Here are Silver Raijin's stock height, stock size wheels

Go for the lighter one.

Raijins....the PF01s look smaller....too small for the car...IMHO.

If you are worried about weight, neither. RPF 1s are cheaper and lighter.

If you're getting Raijins in 18x8.5 +35, why not just get the stock MR BBS rims? Better quality, lighter, and around the same price. Pretty much the same fitment

My vote is for the raijins. They look really clean and classy..especially if your not lowering.

They are not the same price. The majority of people selling off MR BBS already have nicks and scratches, or worse, curb rash. I'd rather pay $1000 for brand new rims, than pay $1200 for used ones. It was on my mind at one point though, but I decided against it

Plus, I like the styling of the Raijins more. The spokes extend out to the very edge of the lip, making the rim look larger, and the wheel itself at +35 is more concave than the BBS rims.

Weight really isn't an issue for me, as the car is a DD, and won't be tracked.

I was also looking at the RPF1's, but apparently the 9.5 +35 doesn't clear the brembos

I'll search around to see what other sizes people have tried. Off the top of anyones head/personal experience, do any of the other sizes of RPF1 clear the brembos? (i.e. 18 x 8.5 +30 or 18 x 9 + 35)

If 18 x 9 +35 clears the brembos, I might have another contender for me to choose from.

Thanks for everyone's help! So far, the majority of you have sided with Raijin's, which is what I was siding with more, since you don't see this spoke pattern on many cars.

I would get RPF1's over either but personally I like the PF01's over the Raijins.

Do you know if the 18 x 9 +35 clear the brembos? I know the 9.5 +35 don't. I personally don't like the convex look of the RPF1s in 8.5+ 30, they make the rims look much smaller than they actually are.

I vote stock BBS if your doing +35 offset. BBS are better, forged, lighter. Only reason I would see to go with aftermarket enkei if your going for a wider wheel or different offset. A 9.5 +15 will be perfect and won't poke. If anything it'll be completely flush to the fender on factory camber. If you plan to lower in the future, the natural camber will actually tuck the wheels more in the fender as you go lower.

I would tend to agree with you until I saw these pictures.

Stock height with Raijin's in 18x9.5 +15

They do in fact poke out. Too much for my tastes. Not only that, but the stock 245 tire size looks too stretched for my tastes. A 265 would be a must at that offset, since you can see the stretch much more now that the offset pokes the wheel out of the fender. From what I have read, anything above 245 on that rim will cause rubbing at stock height.

I was looking for the MR BBS rims, but honestly, I won't be tracking the car, so lighter forged rims really don't mean much to me. I'd rather pay less money for new rims, than more for used rims. I know where you are coming from though, so thanks for the advice

LOL, see, now after seeing those PF01's on your car, I'm back to being unsure. damn you! Yesterday I wanted those Raijin's in stock configuration, and now I saw your PF01s and I don't know anymore.

I really want a wider rim that doesn't poke out, PF01s can do that while still clearing the brembos, but the spoke pattern of the Raijin's isn't something you see a lot on the road.

The only other last option would be waiting until Rota DPT's in silver (18x9.5+22) or Rota Torque (18x9.5+20) Hyper Black are in stock

I would much rather stick to Enkei though.

Well I hope this thread helped a few people out.

I decided that because I was having a hard time choosing what rim to get, I realized that it meant I didn't really want either rim. I was afraid of choosing a rim, putting it on, then regretting my decision horribly.

Therefore, I searched online for the exact size rim I wanted, and came across Weds Sport SA-55M in Matte Grey Machining. I fell in love with the way this rim looks on a Wicked White Evo. Time to save up more! Hopefully I can get a good deal on them

Good luck to all who have this same problem. My advice, get the wheels you REALLY want.

I think it depends on the camber etc.

Here are my rpf1s and Raijins on my Evo....barely any stretch on 245/40 and flush with the fender.

Both are 9.5+15.
