Since mine is only couple of months old.. I don't have the ***** to do this yet. I know it's not going to hurt the car but still I'm reluctant.
Best thing to do is find a nice open parking lot when the snow is fresh and just practice a bit (there's a few around here that I can go to and put the car sideways and have at least 100ft of clearance from anything else around me). Keep the RPMs fairly low and try to do concentric circles. It teaches you about the car's tendency to understeer and oversteer, and under what conditions each happens. Makes you a safer driver to know your car's behavior when things go bad.

For sure! I just wish this winter had given me more opportunities like this. We've had many wet snowfalls, followed by extreme cold snaps (beyond -10F). That's a recipe for lots of rough ice. No good for having fun. Also not good for the hydraulic pump when it gets that cold, so have to take it easy.
