Phantom Black with Huper Optik 30
Phantom Black with Huper Optik 30
Just got the tint done yesterday - I've made a commitment to keep her in a legal looking state, I don't want any reason to get pulled over. Opinions?? I plan on tinting the front windshield with 80% and a dark strip up top soon which should cut down some more light and make it appear darker. High quality tint, lifetime warranty at any authorized dealer against the install, defects, and scratching backed by the manufacturer. Cure time on this thick tint is going to take forever, especially in WA with no sun :/

The front tint in Washington is illegal as well........... The cops here i dont think care, I had 20% on my last lancer and was pulled over a couple times for cops just wanting to "check me out" becasue of the black windows, but when they realized that I am a normal tax paying citizen wiht no criminal record they said, "see ya!"
1) Unless you cover your windshield and/or sunroof.....your tint won't do what it is intended for. The windshield is the largest piece of glass, easy entrance for heat.
2) Why does one in Washington state need heat blocking tint? Its not like the NW is known for its warm weather....

Incorrect, sir. Tint is 100% legal on the front windows in Washington state. The limit is 35% all around for cars, no tint on windshield except for a 6in strip - Trucks/SUVs/Van have their own special liberties. I went with 30% as Huper is lighter than other tint so I highly doubt any cop will be bothered by it and my move next year allows for 30%
Correct, which is why I listed I am installing tint on the front windshield. It'll either be Air Blue 80 or 3M Crystalline 80. Along with the strip up top that will be much darker. The majority of people with tint do not NEED it. Heat blocking is good for any state if you ask me. But, I went Huper Optik for a few reasons - it was already installed on my last car (08 330xi) that came from Cali and was best tint I've ever had, I'm also moving to SC next year. It's a bit warmer there :P Plus it looks great and the lifetime warranty against scratching is a big plus.

I've found that the states that are hot, see a lot of sun, or tend to be more liberal have more favorable tint laws. Minnesota is working against you with all of that ha ha.
Thanks for the comments though everyone else.

I wanna get tint but I dont think its worth it with just 40% lol
It's hard to tell there's tint there at 80%, but I appreciate the concern. My last car has that was very dark - not interested in that anymore. Here's an example. This is different brand 30% something on the side with air blue 80 on the front windshield.
I think tint at 40% would be just as worth it. Just get something that is known to look dark.
