I have seen some people get the cell with the test pipe and other not get it. I am not 100% why that is, but some do and some don't. If you do you can get the Cel fix or I believe it can be tuned so the system will not get the cel code.

Let us know if you have any other questions on these parts

Have a great weekend everyone

We are running the Tomei Expreme Big Mouth Downpipe.

That I am aware of I don't believe you would have any leakage with the test pipe mounted up to the AMS Downpipe. They should both use 3" 2 bolt flanges and the test pipe is just replacing your OEM Cat.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this.

Also for those wondering here are all the parts which we used for this install:

Tomei Expreme Ti Titanium Catback Exhaust Mitsubishi EVO X 2008-2013

Tomei Expreme Ti Titanium Test Pipe Mitsubishi EVO X 2008-2013

Tomei Expreme Downpipe Big Mouth Mitsubishi EVO X 2008-2013

Thanks,

-Dallin

You will over time aquire a leak using the AMS downpipe and Tomei TP. I had the Tomei TP and exhaust as well as the AMS downpipe. I noticed the Tomei tapered so I matched them up and its not a good match at all. The Tomei flange is so mcuh smaller than AMS or ETS flanges. There is in all honesty a few millimeters where the flanges will actually seal toether. I hate the Tomei exhaust for tapering it like that but if you're running the stock cat it fits good.

If the AMS's flange is actually bigger than the Tomei, they yes I could see this causing an issue and were you would want to run a thicker gasket to prevent leaks that the Tomei Metal gasket could have in this situation.

Like the thicker Remflex 3" 2 bolt gaskets we carry.

Maybe I will see what I can find out with the flange shape/ size of the two.

Thank you for the heads up I will do a bit more research into this.

I have them both right here in my house. The AMS flange is much bigger in overall diameter. They're obviosuly both 2 bolt so the bolt holes match up fine but its because of Tomei's taper that they used a much smaller flange. I can take pictures if anyone would like.

If you are able to take a side by side picture comparison that would be very useful information for other forum users.

I believe they will still work fine just be aware that they need to be aligned perfectly for the provided gasket to seal properly or go with a thicker gasket that will help prevent any leaks between the two flanges.

Thank you SD_Lurker
