Had to google that one.

Yep. Rally-spec Wilwoods from TRF to get 15" Braids to fit.

One of the difficulties of setting an Evo X up for gravel and dirt are the brakes. The only real rally tires are 15", but, while there are a few OTS kits for the small front brakes, the rears are a pain. But Ryan Thompson and I came up with a solution (that happens to be legal for autocrossing in Street Prepared, I might add) to get 15" wheels on the car with the right bias for low-grip. The calipers are 4-pot Wilwoods. Large pistons in the front and medium pistons in the rear. Not only does it allow for the Braids, but the car stops on tarmac in only 8 extra feet compared to the large, heavy, dusty, nasty Brembos.

...okay so Braids are tires and Wilwood are brakes (i knew that!) and TRF is a shop.

Braids are (rally) wheels. Indestructible. The rest is correct.

The short answer is No. My daughter and I go out and do things quite stupid on certain local roads, but we haven't gone to a rallycross (yet), as they are all far away, and the car has no cage (which is why what we do is incredibly stupid). It's still a daily driver and will be for some time.

This is all new to me. I competed in my previous car - a 2G DSM named Cinder - but that was on pavement and before moving out here.

Yeah. There are very few private roads that we can play on and I do enjoy competition. We will make at least one road-trip for a rallycross this summer. She is old enough to be in the car for SCCA events and is getting her helmet next week.

Here is something cool for people with 12-15 year-old kids, especially if they are small for their age: http://www.filthymotorsports.com/Twi...ed-booster.htm It even works with Schroth harnesses.
