How do you not chip the hell out of the paint on the sides of the car?

Running on 7 months with no chips so far ( its my daily ). The bottom extruded area that we left as OEM due to essential brackets underneath acts as a great deflector for the majority of the debris. The rest is considered pass through cause there's really no perpendicular surface of the fender that meets the flow of debris. OEM fender liner is retained but slightly trimmed to account for the sweep.
