R3V's Build Journal
Thanks man. It's going to be a slow one, I modded my STI very quickly and will take a slower path with this.
So as a little experiment and because stock is boring as ****, from everything I have read on here the two main components that make power on the X (coming from stock) are the boost controller and test pipe. I've found the boost controllers sell fairly cheap new so I'll be buying one of those, and I'll find a nice test pipe from someone here (if anyone has an ETS test pipe please message me) and then have Jestr tuning tune the car.
I'll see if they'll do a pull 100% stock and then my results post EBCS/TP. Will be interesting to see the power I get with everything else stock.

Here's a question, really unhappy with the way the stock shifter feels. Does going aftermarket drastically improve the shifter feel? I loved the stock shifter in my STI (2006), and can't stand this one in my X. Probably my #1 complaint in all honesty.
Just a canon T3i w/sigma 50mm 1.4. I also have the 85mm 1.8L which is a crazy good lens for portrait work.

So a little update.
Found some killer deals on a used ETS Test pipe w/wideband bung and an Invidia N1 Race exhaust, so those will be here by the middle of the week. Hopefully have the CBE installed the same day, the car needs some noise.
Planning on having the car Dyno tuned at PRS in a month or two. Doing just a test pipe/EBCS to see just how much of a difference it makes. The CBE should be a negligible difference, so I don't think it will skew my findings. Very curious to see just how much power I can get from those two parts since they definitely seem to be the weak parts of the system.
