Brake Retainer Pins Question

Hi all- I just changed my front brake pads this weekend and since I didn't have a center punch tool, I just ended up using a small screwdriver/hammer to remove the pins. By doing so, it shaved off some of the tip of the retainer pins when I hit it.

The tips of the pins are still pushed far enough that it "slightly" extends past the surface of the calipers. Should I be worried of it slipping out? I checked for the price of the pins and its about $14 each, but I don't want to waste money if I am just being paranoid. Thanks!

As long as you got them in the rt way--you should be fine. The tension from the brake clips will help hold them in. A word of wisdom, that punch would have been a couple of bucks, now you still need a punch and $56.00 to correct the issues of not using a punch.

Yea you should be fine just check it after a couple hundred miles and if it still looks good then I wouldn't worry about it.
