Damn Brembo retainer pins!

So last night spent a good hour (along with chewing up part of the covers with dings) trying to get the retainer pins out of the front brakes. They just won't move! Anyone have any tips on getting them out?

Get a nail-setter from any hardware store. Hit with hammer. The key to nail-setters is the pointed tip to keep it from wandering when hit.

I've never thought of size as being important. [Wait. Maybe I should re-express that, in case someone reads more into it than I intended.] The keys are being small enough to not chip the caliper when the pin suddenly moved, having a good point so it doesn't wander, and not being one of those spring-loaded gizmos as they never seem to work correctly.

Too funny, and yes a nail set or a thin philips screw driver works in a pinch. Should come out easy as pie.

This. I have a set up metal punches I used for the pins on my guns but they work just as well on the caliper pins.

As others have said all you need is a punch, nail or small screwdriver. It is straightforward with the right tools and should take you all of 5 seconds to remove.

I just use a punch and carefully hit the pins straight on. Never had an issue.
