My car is an 8, and has 10/12 springs. My fronds X that has ohlins, 10/10 springs, and a white line rear 24mm rear bar set on the soft setting said the car was pretty amazing on 275/35r18 NT01's.

I wish I could get 10/10 or just a higher rate for the GTs. I'd like to have the rubber top hats instead of the pillow mount. Not a fan of "road noise transmitting through the chassis".

I've had two sets of Apexi ExV coilovers (best budget coilover out there), I've had bilstein B14 coilovers, I've had BC coilovers, I've had KW V3 coilovers, I've had HKS GT coilovers, I've had JIC coilovers.

By FAR, my current set of Ohlins on my X are one of the best purchases I have made on any of my cars, ever.

I've tracked every single coilover set I have had. The worst where JIC. The HKS lasted about 4 months before they crapped the bed and there was literally nobody to service them.

Ohlins.... best choice if you are serious about the car.

You're not going to notice additional NVH from the spherical top hats on the Ohlins. The dampers work well enough that you don't notice.

No they're not. Its a ball bearing (like for a skateboard wheel) mounted in rubber.

it is? so instead of just doing a rubber mount they did a solid mount isolated in rubber?

I'm not going to lie, a little disappointed they only lasted 4 months . They blew I take it?

Minus that, how did they perform?

I have had the HKS GT HyperMax IV coil overs installed on a 15 Evo X MR for about 2 years now. Installed at FFtec, Hayward. Set at 15 out of 30 in the rear and 20 out of 30 in the front, have about 3/4 inch from top of tire to fender lip. They handle great for the street and weekend tracking. They are pretty stiff, car does not move at all when you rock it (I have other suspension mods as well). If it was a full track car I may choose something else, but for a mostly street weekend driven car they work great for the $1400ish cost. I would buy again.

Can you elaborate on "better" please? In all aspects? Turn-in? balance? exit? ride? street comfort? etc?

How many miles do you have on them?

Most oems just have a relatively thin metal sleeve, not a full on greased decent size metal bearing... I didn't take the whole top mount apart, but it looked like a solid mount to me when I was changing the springs on my evo x, hence my comment.

Anyway, I guess I was wrong, let's not derail the thread any further
