Which tire for the Evo X? Michelin PSS, PS4S of something else?

Sadly Dunlop discontinued their SP600 which was originally fitted on the Evo X, so now I'm looking for the best tire.

I've seen that both Michelin's have reinforced sidewalls and have a 97 rating, but I'm not sure what to choose between the Michelin Pilot Super Sports or the newer Michelin Pilot Sport 4S?

Or maybe something else?

Opinions please, for a bone stock Evo X.

The 4S is supposed to be the newer, better tire. Can't go wrong with them for a summer. The new Continental Extreme Contact Sport is supposed to be really good too.

evo x had yokohama advans stock.... at least in the US, I guess could be different in Greece.

I'm liking my Hankook RS4's, I have them on my miata, but based on my experience they'd be good on a heavy car like the Evo X. They're surprisingly good in the rain (hydroplaining resistance) even in a 2500lb car. so since you're adding another 1000lb and awd, they'll be even better on an evo for hydorplaining resistance. I'm running 245's, same width as stock evo tires.

going to the tires you listed will be going down in performance a bit from stock tires. RS4's will be better and should last longer than stock (advans)

Well, in Greece they came with Dunlop SP600 from the factory which is a tire co-engineered with Mitsubishi for the Evo X. But Dunlop discontinued it.

I think that the Pilot Super Sport is a nice, grippy tire but I'll check the RS4's you mention as well.

Per tire rack, the SP600 was the OEM for the 2008+ WRX STI in this country lol

if you're looking for a more comfort oriented tire that still performs relatively well, the PSS is the better choice. for me the PSS is ruined with the soft widewall... if you want stock or better level of performance the RS4 is the better choice.

outdated tire at this point compared to the other offerings in its class, but still a very good tire. Generally not worth the money though, unless you have a hookup or for some reason they're not as expensive in Greece.

different class tires. The RE71R is the current king of the 200TW class (sorta shared with the BFG Rival S 1.5) but generally not so good for a heavy car like the Evo X, especially in stock 245 size. they get a little greasy as they get hot, and that happens fast in a heavy car. Tons of grip though, I've autox'd a Miata with these on for 2 runs, and they stick very well. I've heard mixed opinions on sidewall stiffness, which can become an issue on a heavy car. My experience isn't really useful here since I drove it on a Miata.

S-04 is more in the Michelin PSS class, but a bit less grip and stiffer sidewalls. I've heard of people getting rid of these tires cause of how stiff the sidewalls were. no personal experience though

Well, re: AD08R's, they are priced around 190 euro in Greece so not so much of a bargain: https://www.elastikaleader.gr/elasti...r18-93w-377195

About Dunlop, are the GT600 different than the SP600?

Because I can't find the SP600, but I can find the GT600...so I'm a bit confused.

Also, can't find Hankook RS4 locally, unfortunately.

Sounds about right about the AD08R, generally a decent bit more than other tires in its class

GT600 looks like the SP600's maybe they're the replacement tire...?
