So 265/35/18..is the closest to stock and its better than 265/40/18..

If you go with a 18x9.5 rims, what would be the right size tires for this size rims?

I would go with 275/35 which is .2 inches lower than stock. You can run 265/35 too and its only .4 inches lower than stock.

How about the speed rate, how much off you be running if you go for 265-35-18?

Its gonna be minimal. Your speedometer would be higher than your actual speed since you're spinning a slightly shorter tire.

on stock suspension, stock suspension settings (camber), no fender rolling, 265/35 on 18x9.5 wheel is the best bet. tons of people have that combo with no reports of rubbing. 275 may have rubbing issues.

You can run 275/35 on a 18x9.5 rim with no rubbing issues as long as you run 30+offset or higher.

on what size of wheels? 18x9.5 or 18x10?

You can go as wide as you want but do you really need all of that?

The Japanese tuners must also know something about the benefits of balancing unsprung weight versus the amount of available traction, as they all seem to prefer rather narrow tires. The CT230R performed its record breaking run on 265-wide Yokohama A048 DOT tires

I am thinking along the lnes of an 18x10.....I am not looking for this wide of a tire for cosmetic purposes....I do a lot of SCCA driving and if i could get a 295 under this car. i would be a happy man, and I think that would be perfect with a set of slicks or r-compounds
