Review: Eibach springs
So now that I have some driving time on my Eibach springs I thought I would give my initial impressions on the street. I will add to this after I auto x this weekend. I have 3 events under my belt in this car so I feel I can make a decent comparison.
As much as I would LOVE to stick Robi on a plane and pay him the big bucks to fly out here to set my car up for STU on his KWs, that wasn't happening. My inexperience in knowing what I need for my driving style and my wallet said this was the better route
I purchased these for the performance benefit and NOT the lowering of the car.
Ride Height: The car is LOW. By my measurements from before and after I got more than the 1.2/1.2 drop. It is more like 2" in front and 1.5 in rear. To me, it is perfect. The stance is much better and I love the look. If it were any lower it would be ghetto and hard to miss curbs and small children. Eibach got the ride height perfect.
Ride Quality: On a normal drive, the ride is completely normal. It feels soft, smooth, and I am extremely pleased. When you hit bumps in the road going slow...like lips and speed bumps, you can definately tell that these are stiffer. I'm not sure how the stock strut works with these springs...it may be a little stiff for them but I can't tell from anything I have done so far. Actually it feels pretty good with no bounce. I also took a good clip down a very bumpy country road. The car still sucks up all the bumps like an EVO, but has a little more chop and you can feel it get into the very stiff part of the spring on the big dips.
Handling: Bear with my on this one, because I haven't used them on the track or auto x yet. From a few quick turns around some corners it feels like the body roll is greatly reduced and these don't upset the natural balance of the car. I'm a fairly experienced driver...I auto x nearly every weekend and I push pretty hard. I made some friends of mine who are used to driving hard sh*t their pants. I will have more input once I drive around some cones this weekend.
Install: I'll be honest, it took me longer than I expected. It took 2 hours because I couldn't find my spring compressors. Aim towards neighbor's house
I've done lots of spring swaps and this was very straight forward. I think anyone can do it no problem. Don't be afraid and pay attention to your spring position.
Verdict: So far I am very happy and dollar for dollar it is the best mod I have done to a car in many years. I love how the ride is still stock-like during normal driving.

Looks sweet....... Lowwww Rider !!!!! Waiting to see how it handles at the track. Worried about low speed corners with the lower stance. That is where lowering spings on the Evo 8 and 9 hurt the performance. High speed stability and corning was definitely improved with lowering springs. The low speed push is what I am afraid of. If it handles as good or better, that will be my next mod as well.

I ran today at the Winged Warrior event and I am pretty pleased. There is really no way to say if the car is faster or handles better without doing back to back on the same course. There is definately less body roll and I feel like I can recover late from a goof up and not have the car roll over. Example....getting behind in a slalom the tail can get pretty happy on this car, and this seemed to make it a tad easier to deal with that.
I had tons of grip today and was one of 2 cars out of 120+ to break under 60 seconds on street tires. I ran a 59.52, and for reference the 2 other X's that were there were running in the 61s I think. One on stock suspension, and one on KWs...both with considerably more power than me...like 100+. In all fairness, I believe it was their first time to auto x the X and I have had mine out a couple times this year. All the X's were really fast relative to the competition. This car gets it done.
Verdict: Best $250 I've spent

It is missing 2 clips.
