I'm deciding on my winter setup, and i Don't want to put winter tires on my stock rims.


Anyone know the smallest rims i can get on the X with stock suspension?

It looks like 18 may be the smallest diameter due to the Front Caliper clearance. But i would like to go with 7.5" width rims or at least 8" as the narrower tires work better in the winter and can save me some money?

 

I think somone fitted a evo 9 mr rims on the x, and it cleared the brembos.

The thread more or less died off as there are likely not very many Evo X owners wanting to drive them in the winter. Right now I'm prepping my 11 sec quarter mile 96 Eclipse GSX for winter duty in order to keep the Evo X salt free but that may change.

Pretty much there are a few 17" wheels that will clear the Evo X rotors but not very many people have chimed in as to which specific ones work so far.

 

I'm running 18x8" with no issues on 245 rubber for winter. Had them on for 6k miles (Feb to mid May here in MN) and everything is great.
I dont know about 17'...that may be a trial and error fitting.
