You need 275/35's. The 40's will be way too large.

Archiebabes is running a 275/35-18 on his X, he said it rubs a little on big bumps and such, but a 265/35-18 would be perfect without rubbing.

I'm getting my 18x9.5 275*35's installed on Monday-need to roll the rears a little to get them to fit-but the 265's I hear fit great (Rota P45R +20 Rim).

It really depends on the tire model as some tires run pretty wide for their fitment. Definitely stay away from a 275/40/18, you want a 275/35/18 as others have mentioned or a 265/35/18.

We have a lot of Evo X's running 18x9.5 +20 P45R wheels with 265/35/18 tires and they have no rubbing issues. 275/35/18 is a grey area and really depends on the tire, might require some fender rolling depending on your cars suspension/alignment.

275/40 wont fit unless that sidewall is a SUPER SUPER small 40. Cost me $50 to figure that out.
