Auto X and Track Day Alignment Set-Up
Auto X and Track Day Alignment Set-Up
First of all I did search but found no Evo X alignment setups on this forum. Plenty of Evo VIII and IX but no X setups.
I Auto X the X for the first time this past weekend and have found that Tarmac setting and ASC completely off provides way to much oversteer. I found that in the snow setting with ASC completely off the car was much more composed and neutral. I did each setting on every other run with a total of 6 runs. Weird I know but times don't lie.
Can anyone chime in on a good alignment setting? I was going to try -2.5 to -3 front and -2 with 1/16 toe in for the rear.

Oversteer? What surface and tire pressures? Only on slick surfaces or too much tire pressure have I introduced what I would call an unacceptable level of understeer.
On the alignment, there are a couple threads on here, but you need two different alignments for AutoX and a road track. On autox you need a bit of toe out up front and typically as much camber as possible. That wouldn't work well for the street or road course where it would be squirrely at high speeds. You should dial back the camber and toe for them.
I posted my alignment specs last week, but I went with 2 camber up front, 1 in the back with as close to 0 toe as possible. I am on stiff coilovers so I don't need super agressive settings to keep my car flat.
With a stock suspension you can get close to 2 camber up front by flipping the top bolt so that the painted dot on the bolt head points away from the strut body.

+1 on goof set up. AutoX I'm at -2.5 front -2 in the rear, 0 toe all the way around-for road track I up the rear camber to a -1.7 (that was the least I could get). BC coils 4 clicks from the hardest setting, 18x9.5 rims on 275/35 rubber for both tracks. I stick to the tarmac and ASC off for both-I've played with gravel a couple times...but it was "wierd" at high speeds.
