Alinements

so i went to see if i can get an alinement and the people at goodyear said that since my car is lowered that it wont fit on the alinement rack.

so the other day i heard about this place called Irish Mikes, they do regular and race alinements so i called them up and they told me that a regular alinement will run me $130. WOW thats expensive for an alinement.

is this a normal price?

My dealer was $100. Kauffman tire is $99 for a lowered car. Firestone is like $130 for a lifetime alignment (which I think I should have done).

not really off topic but....

can i trust a place like goodyear or another tire place to properly align to evo specs? i know the computerized alignment usually has the OEM specs in the database but can it be trusted. i love the factory alignment but it will need to be adjust soon.

For a full 4-wheel alignment, $90 - $135 isn't anything surprising.

I went to get the alignment after putting on eibach springs and they said they cannot get the rear wheels to set to what I wanted, and the camber was way off. They only charged me $60.. Is this place full of ****? Should I goto another shop? The car drives straight but its eating my rear tires to hell (only 6.5k miles).. front ones are still good.

You should try somewhere else.

What specs were you able to get to?

I know many people have listed their allignment setting recomendations (-.8 to -1.5 camber front and rear, .0 to -.02 toe front; .0 to -.11 to rear), but can someone actually post the factory spec print out from the dealer or the allignment shop that shows the stock factory spec range listing the high and low values. thanks

From my alignment on Friday, this is what's in Firestone's computer as the "stock specs":

Front
Camber: -0.6 - 0.4 (*** this value looks whack! ***)
Caster: 2.2 - 3.2
Toe: -0.04 - 0.12

Rear:
Camber: -1.4 - -0.4
Toe: 0.04 - 0.20
