Brake pad options (Definitive List Thread)

Just thought I'd start a thread of the brake pad options for the X.

The X and the VIII/IX use the same front pads, but the rear pads are not the same. You can get a pad adapter from Girodisc to use VIII/IX rear pads. I am not very pleased with it though (squealing that I can't shake -- could definitely be the pad though).

I don't know what all's available so I need your help!
  • Stock pads (Ferodo OEM) [SA]
  • Axxis Ultimate [SR]
  • Endless CC-R/CC-Rg [T]
  • Endless SS-H [S]
  • Ferodo DS2500 [SATRP]
  • Ferodo DS3000 [ATP] R?
  • Girodisc Magic Pads [S]
  • Hawk HPS [SAR]
  • Hawk HP+ [SARP]
  • Hawk DTC-30 [TR]
  • Performance Friction PF01 [T] R?
  • Performance Friction PF97 [T] R?
  • Project Mu B-Force [SA]
  • Project Mu Type NS [S]
  • Raybestos ST43 [TR]

Key:
  • S - Street
  • A - Autocross
  • T - Track
  • R - Requires rear adapter
  • P - Squeals like a pig

Things I know I'm missing:
Project Mu offerings
Raybestos offerings
Hawk track offerings

So... let me know the options you know of and what category they fall under and if they require an adapter or not.

Here is the VIII/IX thread on a similar subject: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ct-thread.html

ENDLESS CCX PADS. (THEY MAKE THE EVO X SPECIFIC REAR PADS)
They don't make CCX any more but they make other CC pads. (CCR and etc)

They call it winding road / Circuit.

I've used all of them on your list except the 3000, and the Girodisc. The HP+ are far better than all of the ones that I tried. Better initial bite and better heat resistance. I thought that they might be too aggressive for the street, but they are awesome!

Err... so the CCX is made in Evo X fitment, but they don't make it any more?

Can you give me a list of the pads, fitment and what you'd use them for? Ones that are in production of course

Looks like endless makes pads for the X called the "SS-H" line. These are the street line and not the windy/circuit pads. Their metrics say they are low dust/noise pads.

Track pads on the other hand "CC-R" and "CC-Rg" pads have lists for the X.

I do not have personal experience with any of them... just letting you all know what their application pages state fits the X.

Most of the endless pads have a EVO X specific application.

CCX is just a type of PAD that has been discountiued. I think they just call it something else now.

Far as I was told CCX was pretty comparable to CCR..

CCX's are aggressive. didn't fade. not squicky but lot of brake dust. (very streetable)

It has been on my car for like 10,000 miles now. (No complaints yet. Plenty of pad left.)

Call endless usa. I am sure they can explain more and what available.

Ferodo has the 2500's coming in for the rear - I'd assume 3000's are somewhat right behind them

Hawk will always be later - but for anyone looking for a aggressive street pad (for the front only now) the DTC-30 has been giving great results in a test I'm running on an STi.

If real race pads are needed - they can always be made from just about any compound by getting them waterjet cut from a larger pad. They would look a bit weird - but work w/ no issues.

Project Mu B-Force [S and A]

Project Mu Type NS [S]

Neither of these require adapters for the rears. Anyone have any experience with these? They seem a little cheap.
