Tenzo R Type M info

Hi!

i'm planning to buy Tenzo R Type M wheels (18" X 8) with an offset of 25.

I would like to know if the stock tires would fit on these wheels and if there are any chances that they touch the arches when turning the steering?

thanks a lot!

Why would you buy narrower wheels than stock unless these are for winter tires (which they are not since you said you want them for the stock tires)?

the stock tires are 245mm wide... they should go on an 8.5-9" wheel. Sure they'll fit on an 8" wheel, but that's a step backwards.

Honestly they aren't cheap enough to justify buying the wrong size.

ohhh I see.....

well I'm totally ignorant on wheels.....so you just taught me something here!

thanks a lot...I'll try to find similar rims but 8.5 or 9"

but how about the offset...what is the range I could choose.

I know stock wheels are 38....so what are my options with the offset?

Google an offset calculator....because the offset depends on the width of the wheel. The X has more space on the outside then on the inside so a lower offset is best, something in the 22-30 range. The lower the farther out the wheel will sit in the wheel well. Stock is 8.5 +38.....

Offset can move quite a bit. Search using the search button at the top of the forums. Search Wheel Offset, or wheel offset calculator. There is a lot of info so dont get overwhelmed. The easiest way is to see what others are running succesfully and what you think looks good. That should be enough to go on for now.

inner clearance : 4mm less
outer position : Retract by 4 mm

so what do you think it means?....will it fit my car?

That means the wheel will sit in the wheel well 4mm further than the stock wheel. I would not suggest that. That will most likely rub on the inner wheel well or not even clear the brakes. You want both the inner clearance and outer position to be more than stock or the same, not less. The outer position is where we have the most room on the X so I would look from something with more than stock.

I would check out some Rota's, they have a few options made for the evo in black w/ red stripe (ie "time attack") finish. Still not exactly a "high-end" wheel, but probably better than the Tenzo R. And the rotas have the correct offset/width for the evo X. Check out the customer gallery here: http://www.wheeldude.com/wordpress/ I'm planning on getting the P45R black/red stripe in either 18x9.5 or 19x10. Good luck on your selection. and post pics when you get them!

And have a look in the show and shine section here on evom

I had the tenzo mean 6 on my old turboed lancer oz and never had a problem with them being soft. but I think the new "agressive" rotas look better.

when buying rims make sure they fit. as in you know there's an evo x with those rims or ask the vendor if its fits the evo x. i purchased a set from another vendor thinking itll fit. it had the right measurements, but when i test fit it, it actually rub the inner wall. our Brembos/ brakes are bigger then the previous evos. just an fyi
