I recently purchased a new set of rims for the X and was wondering if I could use my stock lug nuts for these rims, the rims require tuner lug nuts. Thanks

 

You can't, you need tuner lug nuts

I lug nut size is 12 x 1.50 right???

 

Can someone please confirm the proper lug nut size. I've searched everywhere and can't find a single post.

 

12x1.5 is the size that you need

 

Monkey is right, the Evo X requires 12x1.5 lug nuts. Even if your new rims didn't require tuner nuts, you still could not have used your OEM lug nuts. The reason being that most all aftermarket rims use a cone seat, whereas OEM manufacturers use a shank style seat. The seat is the portion of the lug nut that sits against the rim hole wall, aftermarket is shaped like a V and OEM is most often a flat surface.

Correction to my initial post!

I was at the warehouse yesterday and took a look at the OEM wheels (Enkei) and lugnuts, they are in fact "Cone Seat" and not "Shank Style". So technically our oem lug nuts should work on aftermarket rims, assuming they do not require spline drive lugs (thin lugs). Sorry for the confusion!!

 

so if the OEM wheels use cone lugs, wouldnt we be able to use tuner style or aftermarket lugs?

So I'm still confused. I've asked this question and gotten some back and forth answers. I know that the stock enkei wheels aren't held on by cone type, they are "mag style" (See link for image: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2988&ppt=C0337)

So where can I get open lug nuts, for mag style, that have the massive washer that the Enkei wheel OEM nuts also have? Or is that oversized washer unnecessary?

I would love to run heat treated studs, I went through the rear studs after running 88 ft-lbs at the track, heating and stretching them. I've replaced them, and instead of replacing the fronts with $1.69 studs, I was wanting to get heat treated ones, but need to make sure the nuts I buy will hold the rims on as well as the OEM nuts do.
