Eibach prokits, good ride?
Eibach prokits, good ride?
I've searched couldn't find anything saying exactly how good the ride was. I've had eibach springs before. I hated it on my 2003 ecilpse, and RSX type s. But loved it on my S2000 and my 08 SI sedan. I know it won't ride like stock, but is it still daily drivable? Like will the people in the back be jumping almost hitting their head on the roof liner over a big bump? hahahha
Thanks

Did you use stock struts with your 2003 eclipse or did you use aftermarket adjustable stuts?
I am about to change out the suspension in my 2001 eclipse and was considering the prokit with the KYB AGX struts.
A partial answer to your question...most seem to agree that the Swifts are the spring to have if you use stock struts. Not as much of a drop but ride is not compromised as much and the drop looks very good as it adds a little rake.

I have heard that they haven't blown struts from others, however with my own personal experience, they blew out my struts within 6-8 months on both my G35 coupe (04') and my 03' svt cobra. I auto x once in each car, drag raced the cobra often so that might have added however, I doubt it.
I don't plan on keeping factory struts on for long, getting wheels from wheeldude this week so ordered the springs for temporary useage.

I never had issues with ride quality or strut issues with Tanabe's on both my evo IX and my 04' STI though. The STI was drag raced at Gainseville every week and the EVO has seen its fair share of road courses + 70k+ miles.
I still would consider the swifts.
I went with Robispec KWs. Have not got them back yet but supposed to be close to stock ride and faster around the track.

My buddy has Eibach's on his X. Everytime I ride passenger, I mention how surprisingly comfortable his ride is.... The drop is pretty decent and the ride is better than I expected. I would have no problems saying: GO FOR IT!
They are decent considering the stock shocks are trying their best. I really wish someone would come out with an uprated shock that was stiffer than stock or adjustable to accomodate the typical 10-20% stiffer springrates from lowering springs. Something in the $500-$600 range would sell very well if any vendors are listening.
Ride is pretty good and I use it as a daily driver.
I'm going back to stock though....for what its worth. I find it annoying that I feel I have to avoid (or more importantly slow down for) any changes in road conditions (dips, pot holes, speed bumps, rail-road crossings, etc). Nothing terrible happens if I don't (less a few bumper scrapes here and there), its just an unconscious tendancy I get when I drive a lowered car.
