Offset question
I know this is a noob question just want to make 100% sure one of these will work. I am looking at one rim but in 2 sizes. 18x8.5 and 19.8.5. The 18 comes in the offset of 35 and 48. The 19 comes in 30 and 43. In your opinion which offset would be the best fit. I want it to stick out a little further then stock if possible. Thanks for the help, its greatly appreciated.
Simply put for your case (since the wheels you are referring to match the stock width), the smaller the offset number, the farther out the wheel will be relative to the fender.
Most importantly, the stock wheel offset is +39. In a nutshell, you do not want to get a wheel with an offset that is more than +39.
So, to answer your question clearly, you should choose:
18" w/ +35 offset
or
19" w/ +30 offset
Many here are getting wheels with +25, +22, and even down to +12 or so (which usually has clearance issues without any additional modifications).
Hope that helps.
Happy modding!

thanks alot that helps. The wheels are relatively unexpensive and thats the only sizes they come in. I just turned 21 and to be a college student I dont have 2000+ to put into a set of wheels. I kno with the 18s I could just use the same tire sizes. Any suggestions on tires for 19s?
Save your money on either of these wheels. You want something that's at least 9.5" wide... otherwise why change from the X MR wheels?
You can get spacers for your stock wheels and then they'll be more flush and look nicer and you'll save a ton of money.
I suggest a 10 or 15mm spacer. Touge Factory can help you out there.

Im just getting them for looks. I dont really care how wide they are. I dont really need that wide of a tire. And I dont plan on dropping it cause I live in WV and there is pot holes everywhere.
Just get spacers then and save $1000+
If you're concerned about pot holes then you damn sure don't want 19's.
ETA: cheap wheels will look cheap whereas the stock MR wheels aren't cheap and don't look cheap.

sigh... do what you want then.
a lower profile tire (which is what you're require with 19" wheels) will offer less protection from potholes, so if you hit one, you're more likely to crack or bend a wheel.
If you say your problem is dragging!?!?! when lowered with potholes then I think you're driving off the shoulder, not hitting potholes.
What are these fancy, cheap, crappy offset, skinny wheels anyway?
