TPMS/Valve Stem Question

I haven't been able to find an answer to this. Is there any aftermarket valve stem that can be used with the TPMS? I don't want to put the stock silver valve stems in my new WedsSports cause it will look horrible. I want to find a black or blue one that will work. I've seen quite a few X's with different color valve stems, are u guys just going without the TPMS or did u find compatable aftermarket ones? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry if this has been discussed, I searched I swear.

Brad

All Lancers, including Evos, use VDO TPMS senders, which I don't believe come in any color other than the default aluminum gray. But that sleeve is removable (at least prior to installation) and could be painted separately.

As you probably know, ours cars don't use universal self-learning TPMS senders (which is why you need to go to the dealer [or get a Wheelrite 400 tool] to recode new wheels to the ECU). So I don't see any option besides painting the sleeve if this is really important to you.

Well yes the stem that comes with the TPMS sensor is removable but the question is does anyone have experience fitting an aftermarket stem fit into the sensor.

Sorry, but the stem is built into the sensor.

Can you just post it in the thread? Not sure why this needs to be a private discussion since multiple people are interested in the information.

Not on the ones that came from tirerack which are supposedly the same as the stock ones. You can pull the stem off and replace as much as youd like.

Just out of curiosity: Can you install new wheels without sensors and avoid having to match new ones to the ECU (without the ECU / dash warning light constantly bugging you)?

Thanks.
